The events of 2020 required us to adjust in many ways, shifting in-person meetings to Zoom calls, wearing masks in the workplace and in public, and staying home a lot more, to name a few. While we were dealing with a host of unforeseen changes, Grandview Cabinetry was also undertaking some planned changes, including remodeling of our offices and our employee breakrooms. Despite all of the upheaval and change, two things remained constant — the hard work of our employees who were busier than ever and our determination to carry on the tradition of celebrating our most committed Grandview employees.
Since construction is considered an essential service, we never stopped working! In fact, as a company that sources and manufactures all of our cabinetry in the United States, work orders poured in from customers who were experiencing delays and interruptions from suppliers who source their materials overseas. As has always been the case, the dedication of our loyal employees meant that our family-owned business and company culture continued to thrive. It’s also why we found a way to continue our annual tenure ceremony even though it didn’t look anything like years past.
We are fortunate to have employees who have been with us for 5, 10, 15, or even 20+ years. Over the past few years, we have celebrated each of these milestones in different ways, with certificates, t-shirts, awards, and celebrations. We are especially grateful for our 20-Year Club, those employees who have dedicated 20+ years to Grandview, so we celebrate them in a special way each year.
In previous years, we’ve been able to treat our 20-Year Club to catered lunches or off-site barbecues with our management team and company president, Stan Tidwell. But the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic threw us quite a curveball, and we did not feel that it would be safe to come together in celebration. This year reminded us that one of the most precious gifts we have is time. While we missed the camaraderie of our 20-Year Club, it was nice to be able to give those loyal employees a half-day off in place of a company-sponsored outing. We hope that each member of the 20-Year Club was able to use that extra time in a meaningful way.
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: the Grandview Cabinetry team is proud of the relationships we’ve built in our community over the years. That wouldn’t be possible without the contributions of our loyal employees. It is an honor to celebrate such dedicated team members each year.
