From the start, Stan was an entrepreneur – he opened his first business, an auto shop, while still in high school. He even built his own car before he had his driver’s license! Stan has always enjoyed hands-on challenges, and he finds building new things especially satisfying.
In 1992, Stan purchased Western Cabinets, a small, local cabinetry company that only carried two colors and two door styles, and only sold to homebuilders. With the help of a hardworking team, Stan grew the company into the national cabinet manufacturer it is today. For over 40 years, he has dedicated himself to the cabinetry industry.
In 2018, Sophia Zetmeir, former owner of Grandview Cabinetry, named Stanley Tidwell the President of the company. After knowing Stan for years, Sophia trusted him to ensure the company’s legacy in light of their shared values – family, community, God, and American-made products. For Stan, running a family-owned business means that his employees, too, are his family. He prides himself on his efforts to empower them, their families, and the community.
Stan was born in Wichita, Kansas and spent his early childhood there. He and his three brothers were raised in a small community in Oklahoma. He married his high school sweetheart Sandi, and they have three daughters and nine grandchildren – two girls and seven boys. Stan loves spending quality time with his grandchildren, including month-long summer road trips! He cares deeply about creating a sustainable future for them. In his free time, he enjoys building things, climbing mountains with co-workers, and working outdoors.
Fun Fact: Stan and his family raise Longhorn cattle and honeybees – ask them about their honey!
