Mary French, Accounting Manager

Some little girls dream of growing up to be a princess or a ballerina, but Mary French always knew that she would be an accountant, an attorney, or a missionary. After obtaining two associate degrees in Accounting and Business Administration, Mary went back to college later in life to fulfill her dream of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Walking across the stage of Pittsburg State University to accept her diploma was a proud day, especially since her dad, who passed away later that year, was there to witness it.

Prior to receiving her degree, Mary worked as the Office Manager for a dental office for nearly 25 years. When that practice closed, armed with her new degree, Mary worked in aviation and aerospace accounting departments before finding her way to Grandview Cabinetry in November 2020. She says: “I appreciate the family-like atmosphere at Grandview and the faith-based values of the company.”

After a decade as a single mom, Mary married her husband Jay in 2000. Together, the couple has 7 children and 10 grandchildren. “Spending time with family is my greatest joy. I love watching my grandkids’ sporting events, which bring out my competitive side,” says Mary. As for her other childhood dreams, Mary has fulfilled her passion for ministry both as an officer in the church (Secretary/Treasurer) and a mentor in a women’s prison. She also enjoys yoga, swimming, and reading.

Fun Fact: Mary may be a numbers whiz, but there’s one thing she can’t count – the thousands of books she’s read over the years. An avid library patron, she checks out 10 books (the maximum) every time!
