Quality-Tested and Earth-Friendly: Grandview’s Greatest Seals of Approval
At Grandview Cabinetry, it’s our mission to provide the highest-quality products with the lowest environmental impact – and we have the certifications to prove it. We’re proud to display Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) certifications on our cabinetry; here’s what these honors mean:
ANSI/KCMA = Quality in the Cabinetry Industry
The blue and white KCMA Certified Cabinet seal you’ll find on our products guarantees that our cabinetry complies with the strict construction and durability standards set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in conjunction with the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA). In order to receive this seal, our cabinets pass rigorous tests carried out by third-party independent laboratories. Throughout the year, samples are taken from our manufacturing plants during unannounced visits for periodic testing. This ensures that we consistently produce cabinetry of the highest quality.
This in-depth testing process stimulates years’ worth of typical household use with:
- Two drawer tests to assess stability and smooth operation
- Two door tests to assess durability
- Five structural tests to measure structural integrity
- Four finish tests to assess the cabinetry’s ability to withstand temperature fluctuations and exposure to household cleaners and products
Put simply, our cabinets go through what all kitchen cabinets have to withstand over the years – lots of vinegar, lemon, orange, and grape juices, ketchup, mustard, olive oil, and more!
A Symbol of True Quality
Grandview Cabinetry is proud to be one of the select cabinetry manufacturers that bears the KCMA Certification seal. Architects, builders, remodelers, and U.S. government agencies all look to the ANSI/KCMA A161.1 Performance & Construction Standards program for the highest-quality products in our market.
ESP = Environmentally-Responsible Industry Practices
Also sponsored by the KCMA, the ESP (Environmental Stewardship Program) is the only environmental certification program dedicated to kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. In order to receive the ESP certification seal, companies must prove they practice environmental responsibility in five categories:
- Product Resource Management
- Process Resource Management
- Air Quality
- Environmental Stewardship
- Community Relations
How We Earn Our Seal
From harvesting to finishing, we enforce sustainable practices throughout our manufacturing process. Every year, we review our process in order to ensure we’re using the most up-to-date, environmentally-friendly practices to restore, recycle, and protect natural resources.
As environmental stewards, we:
- Source our wood from sustainable forestry programs
- Finish our products domestically, with low-emission varnishes and stains
- Recycle waste to be reused in other products, like wood chips
- Reuse our solvents to clean factories and equipment
In short, our ESP certification seal shows we’re devoted to as many “green” practices as possible in our business. At Grandview, we believe we’re responsible for our fellow community members and the beautiful planet we share. In this sense, our standards always conform to (or exceed) ESP standards.
